Custom Cell Isolation

Cell Biologics provides custom services upon request. We will isolate cells of any description from specific organs or tissues (any animal or human tissues) that you designate. We are well versed in isolating endothelial cells and epithelial cells from animals (wild-type and knock-out murine strains, rat strains) from any desired tissue.

You may ship us either the already excised tissues or live mice or rats, and we will isolate the desired cell type and return a vial containing the prepared cells, ready to use. If you have special needs in the isolation of endothelial cells, epithelial cells, macrophages, bone marrow derived cells or other cell types, let us know what you need and we will accommodate you. Custom primary cell isolation is available internationally.

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1

Tell us what you need

Send the form below, or email service@cellbiologics.com with the type and quantity of cells you need. A representative will contact you promptly within 1 day.

Step 2

Send tissue or live animals

Ship excised organs or tissues, or deliver live mice or rats. We provide the protocol for collecting and sending tissue.

Step 3

We isolate and ship

We isolate the cell type you specified and return it ready to use, frozen on dry ice anywhere in the world. Live cell shipment is available on request.

Discount pricing is offered when an order covers more than three cell types derived from different organs or tissues. Prices are those quoted in our custom isolation FAQ; please confirm current pricing when you enquire.

GOOD TO KNOW

Delivery time Usually 3–5 weeks from the time we receive your live mice or tissue samples for endothelial and tumor-derived endothelial cells; 2–3 weeks for epithelial and stem cell-derived endothelial cells.
Samples we accept Organs (lungs, heart, liver, brain, kidney, dermal and others) from 5–8 mice, best from animals 1–5 weeks old. Or deliver live mice (1–6 weeks old; 1–2 weeks gives better results), typically 6–10 mice per order. Ask your animal facility or company to contact us for animal delivery.
Isolation method Endothelial cells are isolated with anti-PECAM-1 antibody-conjugated magnetic beads and epithelial cells with anti-EpCAM-1 beads, combining established and proprietary methods.
Testing Endothelial cells are tested for VE-cadherin and PECAM-1 (CD31) by fluorescence staining; purity is judged by morphology and VE-cadherin (CD144) or CD31 staining at cell-cell junctions.
Culture after delivery Endothelial cells can be expanded 3–6 passages at a 1:2 split in Mouse Endothelial Cell Culture Medium M1168 or M1168CO; epithelial cells 3–7 passages in Epithelial Cell Culture Medium M6621.
Knockout and transgenic cells We cannot guarantee a cell strain's phenotype after isolation and in vitro culture. For a new strain, we suggest ordering and testing 1–2 vials first.
Long-term projects A representative will work with you on special requests and offer special discount pricing, upon approval of a written contract.
